Silver vs. Black end exhaust cover

I'll bet that the new grey R1200GS has a sliver end cap and no power valve either.
This means slower bike and slower colour ;) :D :D :D

technical spec that i read said that the "power valve", (older bikes, black end cap) was there as a noise reduction system. so now no valve, more noise, (less restriction?) and more power..

It reduced noise lower down the revs and opened up the silencer when gas flow increased.

For regulations sake I'll bet that noise was measured before the valve opened.

I'll also bet that BWM have looked at ways of saving money, have dumped the valve and made the silencer generally more restrictive right through the gas flow range to meet the regs.
