all parts for my 12k including full synthetic, FD and Gearbox oil. plugs filters the lot came to just over £90 so what do you mean you cant do it yourself for that price?

Add the cost of the fault code reader tool, throttle balance tool, service interval reset, brake fluid bleed, alternator belt, torque
wrench cost and value of good will should something go tits up, thats what I mean. Not forgetting stamp in service book and resale value of course. Oh and of course fact I dont have to get my hands dirty and can do something more interesting instead for a couple of hours.:thumb2

But you have no idea if the FD oil really was changed, or any of the other work has really been carried out, the self servicing route, although not for everyone is quite satisfying. I am 99.99% certain the FD oil on my bike had never been changed, yet according to the BMW service sheet it had been.

Also the cost of a torque wrench should not be included as I have never seen a dealer mechanic use one.

Ah..... thats because all technicians on their yearly update training courses have have their arms re-calibrated........
 
Yeh it's a cheap service but I ain't got a K1200 or K1300 and I can't see a price for the R1200gs listed or have I finally gone blind
