Just bought a zumo 660 and want a Comms system to go with it. All I need is to listen to gps and music. Also ability to answer iphone 5s. To complicate things I have a Neotec. Any suggestions greatly received.

If you want no wires (ie. BlueTooth) go for something like a latest generation Scala. Just take a bit of care that you daisy chain the items together in the correct sequence. Most of the 'Help... It don't work' pleas seen on this site are down to bods simply lumping devices together, rather than following the correct sequence. Reading the manual(s) helps, too.

For hard wired, Autocom (which will take BlueTooth, too) is reliably popular. Again, there are very good diagrams available on how best to join items together. Use them.

Loads of threads, websites and other sources available on how to power all the gubbins.

One tip:

Work out how often you REALLY need to answer a phone or make a call when riding. Your thread would seem to indicate you have never used a phone on a bike before.... Somehow you have survived... The chances are you'll survive forever without the ability. Same thing with bike-to-bike communications... Do you have anyone to talk to? Do you really have anything so important to say to them (and them to you) whilst hooning your awesome steeds down the twisties, that it can't wait?

Another tip:

Do you REALLY need spoken instructions from your GPS device? The advantage of using the device as a simple scrolling silent map is that it forces you to THINK whilst riding. More often than not by using your eyes (and a degree of common sense) many of the errors bods report can be overcome by employing a little common sense when riding, rather than entering a dream like state whilst some computer generated bimbo whispers in their ear.

Wapping is spot on with what he has said above, I have blue tooth and linked phone up worst mistake I ever did, now turn phone off and just listen to my tunes as talking and riding don't mix at all

smh 5

In the past I had auto com bike to bike to pillion to phone to every thing else good gear at a cost, current set up I wanted same as you bought the smh 5 for less than £80 money well spent worst thing about this thread is I have found myself agreeing with Herr Wapping a southerner FFS:D:D:D don't bother with scala (in my op)

Thanks all for the advice. I can't help thinking that Wapping is right. Perhaps I will fit the GPS and see how it goes without comms.

The main reason for phone comms in my case is because I am part of an on-call rota at work and hate sitting indoors at weekends when the sun is shining. MP3 whilst riding is nice, comms with pillion or buddies is handy, haven't bothered with sat-nag audio for years the pictures are enough.

I use a Scala Rider Q1. Bluetooth to the 660, picks up GPS, phone & phone music & spoken instructions & music etc from GPS

Using sumo 500, iPhone 5s, and Sena smh10.
Listen to music all the time I'm riding on my own, will chat on phone if called. Use intercom when riding with mate.
However a long time ago I switched off the Bluetooth on the zumo as I kept getting loads of bleeps for cameras/accident black spots-drove me mad!

On the Zumo 660 you can turn the camera alerts off, so possibly you may be able to do it on the 500?
