I don't use voice commands, music etc so would love to swap out my current bulky power lead to the cradle for a stripped down simple power only lead.

Before I make one up does anybody know if such a thing exists off the shelf?

i made one up for my own 660 as i didnt like the mess of wires, easy enough though, what you need to do is split the bike cradle remove all the sealent and clip from around where the cable goes into the unit unplug the connectors from the board, and then get yourself a replacement connector for the two wire one, these are available on ebay, get one whith the wires attached. then all you need to do is re seal where the wires come out and add a connector to the bare wires to join to the bike, you then have a unit you can put back to standard because you have not cut the cable.
Or you could just cut the cable and splice in. there are a couple of pics in this thread http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/385791-all-them-wires

I dont think you can buy a cable to do this, i had a good search.

for the new plug you will need to measure the pin spacing, i think it was either 2mm or 1.5 but unsure of this so measure it then search for, 2 pin fan connector with bare wires, or if you have an old pc graphics card with a fan on it, that may have one on it.

this may be the connector, but measure to make sure. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2pcs-2-Pi...hash=item566ba0e083:m:m2lB42lKiRba7KzU0Z_O1yA

You should be able to get one from the uk though.

Thanks leedude03, that's really helpful :) and, as I suspected, looks like I need to make up a lead then.

as i said i dont think there is a cable available, but its easy enough. just another point, i used the super seal type connector on the bare wire end as they are waterproof ish.

And doing it this way you get the added ability to swap from bike to bike quickly, if you have a flying lead rigged up on both bikes.
