Simple Printers

I don't really do technology, I'm alright with air cooled flat twins, gearboxes and bevel drives but trying to sort printers that don't want to communicate with computers is extremely frustrating!

I've had 3 HP printers that have all either stopped powering up (1) or stopped communicating with our computers either when hard wired or wirelessly (2).

Can someone please recommend a simple printer that will print letters, envelopes and occasional pictures..................RELIABLY without costing a fortune and with sensibly priced ink please?

You'll be challenged to buy a new simple printer cos theyve gone multifunction crazy, with additional bloating of necessary software, now with eprint options..Ink cartridge management has also evolved to contain non reversible ink level sensors:to stop anyone refilling them.
I have just resorted to an eBay purchase of an obsolete hp simple printer, because I just want a simple card printer and nothing else. Good luck!
