Hi all, how do you know which one you have? I'm new to the world of BMW and have bought an 02 R1150 GS. Can any one tell me which one I have please. My missus has the F650 GS and it says 2 spark or twin spark on the engine. Is the 1150 the same? Cheers.

Have a look under the 'sticky-out' bits of the engine. There will be another spark-plug under there.

Twin Spark models also have "2 Spark" on the primary plug/coil-stick covers and that cover is silver instead of black. It does not reach around to the front of the valve cover like the single-spark models.

I doubt that you'll find a second plug on yours. If yours is a 2002 registered bike, I reckon that it is likely to have been assembled earlier than November 2002, when the second plug was added.

Thanks for that! Definatley a single spark on mine then. At least I know now. Cheers.:thumb2

Personal opinion, I believe the 2 spark has some emission advantages, minimal operational advantages.. but then I do run a 99 1150:augie
