Single seat and wrack for g/s and Basic

Hi, I am presently investigating the remanufacture of the above items, especially the wrack, which I am informed is no longer available. I have two sets of original SEAT & WRACKS to work from. One will be for sale, when the project is achieved. Before I go and order 100`s, Is this folly? are they wanted? I think maybe they are, but what is presently available? should I nagotiate on colours for the seats for example or is black OK, cant help thinking blue would be nice and original orange. P.S I wont do it unless I can sell them A GOOD BIT cheaper than say the r100gs pd kit, still available from BMW. Thanks GB

Stainless steel rack

I think that one way to make it a seller would be to fabricate the rack in stainless steel. And instead of paint I would personally prefer if the rack was bead blasted to a matt steel finish. Regarding the seat I think attention should be paid to the quality of cover material and overall sitting comfort. The cover material could be like on the Touratech seats which looks much very better than the semi leather covers on standard BMW airhead.

I´m currently awaiting a complete rear subframe in stainless with solo seat from www.gletter.de
It should arrive in a week
So I probably won't be a buyer, but the best of luck with your project

Hi GAry - Like Judge says I have just aquired a virtually new one from a list member who bought it new along with the seat so they are available from somewhere.

There might still be room for another supplier, especially if the quality is better than whats available today and if the price will be a "good bit cheaper" (As bamwbiker states in his post).

A nice feature to improve interest could be to include a functional aluminium luggage plate for the rack.
