I've got the Knox Multi Sport shirt and a pair of Knox Cross Shorts. They're quite bulky and the close fitting Knox chest protector which wraps around your rib cage can be pretty warm. If I was buying again, I'd consider the Forcefield equivalent and I'm saying that on the basis of also having one of their chest protectors and a back protector in one of my jackets.

If you want to try the Knox kit, you'll probably find that Forth Gear will have it in stock.

Hi Schtum - thanks for quick response. I want to wear one of these with shell Enduro jacket, and layer rather than wearing bulky kit like Rallye II etc. Surely mesh armour jacket with a t shirt will be cooler. Do you know about Alpinestars Bionic Protector jacket; any idea if it is lighter than Knox. I have tried Alpinestars on at Hein Gericke, and it seemed pretty sorted to me.

Again, I'd look at the Forcefield kit. The Knox Multisport Shirt is anything but cool. So much so that although I wear mine here in Scotland underneath my Belstaff Adventure jacket, last year before I went to ride in the June/July heat of California and Oregon, I refitted the Knox shoulder and elbow armour into the jacket and used the Knox Stowaway back protector from the shirt with a Forcefield chest Protector.

That's the one. Yes it is a bit more expensive but it's the best body armour there is. I'm saying that on the basis of having a friend who, when he was prototyping a new range of motorcycle clothing, did some work with Dr Roderick Woods at Cambridge University and in lab tests the Forcefield armour came out by far the best in terms of its ability to dissipate impact energy.

In fact, I'm talking myself into it. What size of Knox shirt would Sir be interested in....? :augie

Ah Sctum, unfortunately you are talking me into it also !!! I have only tried on Alpinestars before - both medium and large seem to fit in their own ways, but I need to consider that I may wear Keis vest underneath etc etc. Which dealer do you get your Forcefield kit from ?

I have to say that I don't like your idea of wearing a heated vest underneath. Armour needs to be close fitting so that it doesn't move signifcantly in any impact. I'd work on wearing any heating or insulation layers over your armour. The only thing I ever wear underneath it is a thin, wicking, base layer - usually Patagonia.

I've only got two bits of Forcefield kit, a back protector which came in my jacket which is one of the prototypes my friend produced and a back protector which I bought from the Forcefield website. Their customer service was brilliant. Their system was down and didn't register my order so they sent out the chest protector guaranteed delivery so that I had it in time to fly to San Francisco.

However, I see from the website that the Extreme Harness Adventure is currently out of stock.
