I'm tempted by the current SKY surf, watch and talk offer for 26 quid a month. SKY tv is well known and I'm assuming they can run a phone service and broadband, but does anyone have experience of these two services from SKY ? I use AOL at the moment for broadband (yes I know I should know better, before you start :D) so I probably dont have great expectations !

I have...

Sky broadband, It's ok, sometimes It drops the connection but not to often. £15 for there basic tv and bb upto 16mb unlimited. They told me I should get at least a 12mb connection as I had a good line, but I only get a 8mb. There customer services are bad in my experiance. I'm not sure about there phone service. But won't you still have to pay bt for the live line?

I switched to Sky broadband from BT about 8 months ago. Compared to BT the Sky services has been unreliable although it is faster...bid deal when you can't get a connection. When I phoned Sky to complain they told me it was a BT line problem....I spoke to a very helpful BT service engineer who said that that's what SKY customer services always say and 99 times out of 100 it has nothing to do with BT's line. I have been told by BT that the problem is that I'm a long way from the exchange that can make the service more unreliable. So with Sky you get the speed, mine was vitually free 'cus I'm a Sky TV customer and it's faster than my previous ISP but just make sure they can deliver it to you reliably.

Yup, still have to pay BT 11 quid a month for the phone line and I get to keep my original phone number but as sky are offering free evening and weekend calls it should, depending on our useage, still work out OK.
I dont have SKY tv at the moment (which would be useful for eurosport) and its costing me around 25 quid a month just for broadband with AOL.
