Sleeving for switch wiring?

The sleeving on the handlebar switch wiring of my 1150 is starting to disintegrate due to age…..
At some point I intend to tidy it up, and was wondering what would be best to use for this.
Heatshrink would do, but I’m not planning to try and remove the pins from the connectors to be able to fit that.
Insulating tape always looks naff after a while.
Self-amalgamating tape is currently my preference, but I’ve also seen fabric adhesive tape advertised for wiring looms, but I presume this is for “indoor” locations?
Any other suggestions?

Sugru would work. It's waterproof and insulating. It will be a bit messy putting it on, but if you smooth it off, it will be a very nice job. The trick to getting a smooth finish is to keep your fingers wet.

Ah, I'll watch this with interest as I have the same issue, I did get some tape that sticks to itself, maybe wait to see if any better suggestions..... CheersJohn B

The problem with that self-amalgamating tape is that it's not very robust and doesn't withstand wear and tear very well. When I do use it for outdoor applications, I wrap a few layers of insulation tape around it to protect it, but as mentioned insulation tape looks crap after a short while.

Heat-shrink will crack and insulating tape soon fails and looks messy. You have to remember that the purpose of the covering is to keep the loom together and give a degree of mechanical protection. It is not supposed to be waterproof. The cloth tape is really easy to use and the finished job looks very professional.

I did all mine a few years ago, 5 years ago.
I used spiral wrap and the wrapped insulation tape around it, the other direction to the spiral wrap.
I think mine still looks alright, but then I live in far north australia where the weather is different.
