2008 R1200GS, left hand cylinder has slight oil leak which appears to be coming from throttle body / intake manifold area. Cam chain tensioner is clean. Oil is at rear and underside of cylinder head and along bottom of throttle body-intake manifold join. Clamp appears to be tight.

Any ideas for likely source? Looks heaviest between temp sensor and intake manifold. Any help much appreciated. Cheers

The breather from the airbox is on the left side, it's about 8" long by 3/4" diameter. There are clips on either end, make sure the clips are still present and secure.

Also Billy, subscribe.......it's the best 12 quid you will ever spend on your Beemer!!!

Thanks for that. Will check the clips tomorrow.

The breather hose attaches on the engine side underneath the intake manifold, and it is around the intake manifold that the oil is present. My guess was that it is more likely to be coming from higher up.

£12 might well be worth it! Thanks for suggestion

I had a persistent leak that took a while to find. It turned out to be the crank position sensor on top of front timing cover.
