I’ve been getting increasingly pissed off that my Motorrad Navigator II has been slipping down as I ride even though the two fixing screws were done up as tight as possible. This meant that I couldnt see the screen well and I was constantly readjusting it to the correct angle.

Note that the four screws seen here have no effect on the tightness of the unit.

These are the two screws at the rear of the unit (facing towards the front of the bike) that control the tightness of the unit

When you release these two this is how the unit comes apart

And there are rubber strips down the middle of both parts of the unit which must get compressed over time and allow the unit to become loose. This is the back of the unit showing the rubber strip.

so… I thought we better reinforce these rubber strips.
I used this non-slip rubber matting you can get from most Halfords type shops but I recon any thin rubber sheet will do.

chop yourself a thin strip of the sheet

I placed this at the main part of the unit, as it was easier to hold it there as I refitted the back part but here it is shown on the back part

and you can just see the edge of it showing after refitting the back part

it feels as tight as a tight thing and I’ll let you know if it stays in place from now on :thumb2
