Brief follow up from post of 25th January. New bike returned to SLM for running in service. Pre-booked well in advance for while- you-wait service to be carried out. Arrived 8am, bike returned 10.15am, fully serviced for £100-00 inclusive (as promised when purchased). Made very welcome by Alaric, plenty of coffee on offer. Also done a deal on new Motorrad jacket with 20% off.

Certain dealers nearer home would do well to visit SLM and learn how to treat customers!

Mate of mine just bought an 800 from them - I accompanied him for the test riding, and can confirm this - SLM really do look after you - my last experience of BMW dealers was Prestige - SLM and the legendary bacon butties are a world apart from any dealers I've ever used in the past.

Oh - I tell a lie - bought my current bike from the Oxford dealer - not bad but they didn't have bacon butties.

To date I have never paid anywhere near £100 for first service, except at Vines - and I have had quite a few of them.
