I was on the phone to SLM yesterday and whilst on hold  the recorded message said that they will be closed for stocktaking on 4th and 5th December.

Might save you a wasted journey.

Weren't SPC doing a stock take. :D

No it couldn't be could it. not with all these recalls around some ones got to earn summit from it. :mmmm

I popped in there tonight to get a refund on my Summer rain gloves that leaked, thanks Mike :thumb

They are open for servicing but just closed for parts whilst they stocktake.

They have improved their service reception quite a lot and are now at least answering and returning calls to an acceptable level, nice to see it too.

Seeing as Wednesday looked like the only bright spot in the week I decided to ride up to SLM to look at a new helmet and new boots. Only to find they are STILL 'closed for stocktaking'. There were helmets and boots on display but they couldn't be sold.

So I rode over to Vines at Guildford who didn't have much stock.

SPC are of course no more, and Tunbridge Wells isn't yet open. I'm getting fed up with BMW dealers only carrying a partial stock of accessories. Why should I be the one who has to ride over the country?

Have you tried the telephone and Royal Mail? Both work quite well these days. :D

Now why has no one ever thought of that before - perfect way for trying the fit.

You'll go far in this new modern world  :D

Thanks :D :D

Just wanted to save the guy a bit of time.
He obviously is not ringing first to see if anyone has the size he needs in stock.
Or get a dealer to order them in, in the range of sizes that he wants to try so that we do not have to keep all the sizes in all the colours sat on the shelf just so we can keep our overdraft at its maximum all the way through the winter. :nenau

BMW offer a sale or return policy on cloathing so if it is in stock in the UK we can have it the next day, and as long as it is sent back within 5 working days there is no charge. If it is German stocked the same applies but it will take 4 days to get to the dealer.
Again only trying to help but I will keep my nose out in future.

Tim is the customer - All he wants is to try some of the goods that BMW are in the business of selling.

maybe he doesn't have the time to faff around.

You now have to book yourself in at a BMW dealer to try the clothing :D :D

Customer service, love it :D :D

Jim

You keep your nose in. Unfortunately some on this board don't know how kind and helpful a chap you are. Neither do they take time to find out before jumping to such unhelpful comments. You were trying to help, and should never be chastised for that.
