When I fill my 06 GSA the fuel gauge can take ten minutes to register any fuel. Is this "A Characteristic Sir" or the first signs of tank gauge strip failure?

When I fill my 06 GSA the fuel gauge can take ten minutes to register any fuel. Is this "A Characteristic Sir" or the first signs of tank gauge strip failure?

My 2011 GSA: fuel gauge is pretty accurate, I also set the the trip, on fill up from near empty or a top up the new level registers within 10mts of movement as my previous GS.
The low fuel light comes on at 50 miles left, on filling up say at 30lts the reading for range starts at 270 and then goes up to around 360 and can hang there for another 60 miles before counting down.
Lowest countdown reading I've got to was 15 miles before a fill up, and then got 32lts in, but no 2 GS/GSA's are the same
