Hi all,

Recently organised a we bike run with a biker friend of mine, we live close to Belfast. So we planned a two day bike run to west coast Connemara, Southern Ireland. Although the trip turned out into a three day run instead of two.

I was on a V-Strom DL 1000 GT and my friend Ian on a Yamaha Fazer 600cc. Here's the brief report;

We left just before lunchtime on Friday (17th July), lovely weather all of the way towards Clifton, Connemara. We rode through Enniskillen - Sligo - Westport - Clifton, arrived at Clifton around 7pm that night. Found a lovely B&B just outta town.

Petrol stop...

We found a local small town and Ian changed his money into Euro's etc...

Onward bound and found some beautiful scenery, around 25 miles short of Clifton, place called Leenane...

As we left on Saturday morning to ride to Blarney in Co. Cork, the weather was awful, very heavy rain for most of the run down from Connemara...

We stayed with a family friend at a lovely B&B just outside of Blarney village, place called Tower, it's about one and a half miles from Blarney, had a lovel meal that night, typical petrol head conversations....

Sunday (19th) morning we said our goodbyes, and rode towards Belfast, around 335 miles single journey. Weather was kind to us apart from a few brisk/heavy short showers riding through Dublin.

Us stopping off for fuel for onward journey to Belfast...

Arrived home (Sunday 19th July) shortly after 5pm, a total of 800 miles covered in three days, nothing spectacular distance wise, but very enjoyable all the same.

The bikes were effortless.
