Step 3. scratch head and wonder do the first set of straps attach to the bobbins and where do the rear staps attach to if anything?

Albeit I am unwell, it is early. I've got no instructions, nor can find any downloadable.

Anyone got a clue :comfort

Soft bag fitting

I have been using one of these daily for the last few years and it has been excellent (apart from having the zip toggles replaced).
Firstly sit the bag on the rack, your pic shows a strap on the underside of the bag hooking over the rack. I just slot the rack into the pocket behind the strap (not using the strap)
Unclip straps shown at front of bag and now pass the end of the loose strap through the slot above the bobbin and back through the loop in end of strap. pull tight and reconnect to front plastic connectors on bag.
done!
This bag is designed to fit a variety of BMW bikes and thus has lots of options for attachement.
This is the way I have been using the bag and it makes it quick and easy to remove the bag at work daily just by unclipping the front straps and sliding off the rack.
Any further help needed I will take pics of my fitment.

Note:I normally remove the straps when fitting vario panniers

Cheers Marra,

I'd like to see the photies of yours fitted.

PS - I'm not normally this stoopid, got this vomiting novovirus thing so trying to keep myself occupied and out of the bog!

I place mine on the rear seat area (rear seat pad removed, never have it fitted acutally)as I have a Givi rear rack and to keep the weight over the rear wheel but:

If the vario panniers are fitted, you can pass the four straps through the thin rectagular gaps.

If the vario panniers aren't fitted, use the vario pannier mounting lugs instead.
