If your using a smallish tent (mine’s a MSR Elixir 2), and want a bit more cover to sit under in hot or wet weather, I can recommend the Vango Adventure tarp, which utilises part of the tent to support it. Real easy to set up on your own and when folded up, takes up barely any space. The only thing I’ve changed is the pole. The one that comes in the kit is steel and quite long and heavy.

Excellent. :thumb2
I did something similar up in Scotland earlier this year.
It makes a huge difference to having a compact tent.

What pole did you swap it out with?

I've considered adding a tarp - but never taken the plunge, as none looked to be suitable.
