Smashed headlight.

Hi everybody, took the plunge and bought a 2010 GSA. Am well pleased with the bike but after a commuting trip a couple of days ago found I had a shattered headlight. I've been told by my dealer a new unit is the only option at £250 ! Ive ordered a headlight protector from ebay but I would appreciate any advice. Ive also had the screen changed as there were cracks developing around the side adjusting bolts. Is this a common issue.??

Having had the same problem as you; a stone taking out the headlight within a month :-(

I've used one of these for over 60K miles:

I've replaced the perspex once in that time and it has saved the headlight from being damaged ever again, despite the best efforts of a bird in flight and various other debris.

Probably the only thing from Touratech that's worth its cost. Their shipping charges are another story.

Thanks for your advice looks like I'll have to shell out for one of those. Tried a cheaper version from ebay which is made of plastic and shaped to fit over the glass under the outer cover. Only problem is it didn't fit.
Been riding thirty years never had a smashed headlight!!!!
