SMS read out to headset - Android phone

Been trying to set this up for a whiel now so am quite chuffed with myself.

Just setup Tasker for Android to read out SMS messages that my phone receives to my Sena smh5 headset if it is connected.

If its not connected it is disabled.

Does anyone else use Tasker for their bikes comms to do any clever stuff?

Not actually used any Sat Navs for bikes that intergrate with phones so am not sure if this functionality exists already for Garmin/Tomtom/other users.

Just curious and looking for idea's

Just on this subject - the new Windows phones read texts out to you via bluetooth and allow you to speak your reply. No setup required. Very nice indeed.

I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ekawas.blogspot.com it can read caller names and emails too (as well as sms). Choice of reading only to headset

Tasker can do the same but I bet not as easily as the previously mentioned apps.

It has come on, Android that is in the latest version. You also can use voice to do tasks such as make calls and send messages.

Just wish mobile battery life would get better

Maybe a stupid question, do u mean it reads the msg out? Ive dled the app and it announces who has sent the text, but doesn't seem to wanna read the contents of the text
