For any NW laners on here, one of my fave lanes in Lancs has been closed. Snape Rake now has a TRO on it. Was totally gutted last weekend when we got to it and saw the sign.

I don't know why they couldn't have just banned the landy's to be honest and left it open to bikes:nenau

..it was sooo tempting to just ride on through there, it looked REALLY good

Where was the sign?

I had a look at both ends at lunch time, and didn't see anything:confused:

Its not the landy drivers that cause the problems, its the kn*bs who tear it up and wont stay on the track. Sadly these kn*bs come with both 4x4 and m/bikes

You had to go through the main gate right by the road at the top, along the initial track (100 yds ish) then the secondary gate had the sign attached to it.

Bloody Landrover shandy drinking poofs :ymca

It would still be open if you were in a hardcore Touareg, which is what nice considerate people drive:thumb2

That's strange, I don't recall seeing anything on the TRF grapevine about this one.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a problem getting that name straight?

Cheers Phil, according to Mario maps its status is an unclassified road. It was clearly marked with signs forbidding motorised vehicles though....Even if the maps don't show it, if I see the signs saying no access, then it ain't worth the risk...

Just stopped laughing after reading this.....I agree the Touareg wouldn't have caused any problems, it wouldn't be able to get its fat beetle arse into the lane! :blagblah :comfort

Beer Hunter, what is the site you used above?

It's Trailwise (www.trailwise.org.uk). There's no secret to it and the more people who use it the better, particularly when they correct the errors. If you're a member of an organisation like GLASS or the TRF, you can get free enhanced access where searches cover a bigger area.
