OK here is one i have not read about before

I took the belly plate off yesterday and the rubber on one of the bolts sheared off.:weights

Before you ask i did not use excessive force and applied loads of WD40 before trying to get the bolt off.

Also last time i took the bolts off i liberally applied plenty of copper grease to ensure i could get the bolts off without doing this very thing.

Anyway how, when and why it happened is irrelevant now, anyone know how to fix it, the only options i can see is rubber bond it together and hope it holds (not likely) or remove the sump base itself and see how they are connected.

Thanks Shad:thumb

IIRC there is a shallow hex nut enbedded within the rubber both ends of the rubber mounts, a long socket dosent quite catch the hex nut on the sump because the shoulder of the socket means the flat edges are a little recessed. Hope that made sense, I would only try tapping round with a center punch when all other methods have failed. Good luck.

Thanks Marc, that would be a proper bonus if the just reverse screw out. I have had a look for the part in the BMW catalouge but the diagrams dont seem to have it pictured.

Got some time today so ill see what i come up with.

Replacement bolts

They are the same studs/ bolts as used on the 1200's and can be bought individually. When had to replace a couple I could only find a kit for the 800's (4 + Bolt) but spoke to Motor Works and they confirmed they are the same.
Get one extra to your needs, just in case one of the others go when tightening back up....

Hope this helps:beerjug:
