I can't give a detailed review as I've only had my Snooper S7000 AVN for a month now, but first impressions are good.
Satnav-wise I've always been a Garmin man, and seriously considered their 'truck' version.
But I went for the Snooper because it was built in.
I got it cos I've a 28 foot motorhome with a trailered car behind....not a combination you want to run down a dead end!!
First impressions....
Firstly, I think in hindsight I'd go for the normal screen attached version, just because it gives you better options to position the screen to see it more clearly, as opposed to being positioned on the dash radio position where the screen is less obvious (..at least on my van). However it is more than adequately visible, and it does mean that your windscreen view is unobscurred.
I also find the screen of a lower resolution than the Garmins I've used..more 'grainy', but again more than adequate.
I initialy had trouble with some of the settings...but found that to be manly user error!
On the road it's performed very well, and never sent me down anywhere I've been uncomfortable with....yet

...but it's early days, but I'll admit with a van/trailer combo of my length having it inspires confidence. The warnings for high winds/sharp bends/obstacles etc are useful, and not annoying as I thought they might be.
I also find the fact that it's easily changed from motorhome, motorhome/trailer, to car, very useful (although as mine is fixed the car option isn't relevant).
I'm also not quite sure if the caravan site is absolutely concise....but again that could be user error.
As for the unit itself it's a very well made, stylish unit. Mine is obviously built in, so has additional features like a radio, sd photo options, and a feed to run a reversing camera for the trailer, and Bluetooth phone connection...all which work well, although I do find the Bluetooth fails to pick up my phone occasionally...but it's easy enough to pair it manually when it does it.
Overall I'm pleased with it...not totally blown away with it...but time may change that, for the better or worse, but my feelings are it'll improve the more I get to understand the functions more...which goes for most new devices, and new Sat Navs in particular.
It takes of getting used to after using Garmins for so many years...but really that's not the units fault, merely user adjustment. But I feel that generally the sat nav side of things isn't quite as polished as the Garmin...but I also initially find the gps tracking slightly more accurate in relationship to the road.
As I've said it's very early days with the unit for me...someone with more experience with it may have a different opinion of it, for the better or worse. But my first impressions is it definately does the job, and seems to do it well.
There are deals out there on the Internet, and the initial shock of the RRP can be overcome....I got my unit for just under £500...not cheap, but a stand alone unit can be bought much cheaper.
Would I recommend one?...yes I would...but I've not used the Garmin version. I also feel that the unit could possibly do with a revamp?...with better screen resolution, and with the impressive up-to-date touch screen performance, and possibly a simpler menu system (although that may be being harsh, as it may mostly be my adaption from Garmins, as it's very far from complicated)
I think with a few tweaks it'd be a showstopping unit, but still impressive as it is.
