My old man has a ruggerini twin cylinder diesel engine just sitting in the yard, I wonder.......I have a few old turbochargers in the garage :augie

would the generator thing have a power outlet on the side? if so you could make 50-50 half diesel half electric...washing machine motors would run it I guess and hey presto it's an eco bike....:thumb2

wonder if you could a grant to develop the idea....:augie

This is looking good.....

When I showed the bike to my squeeze whilst it was for sale, she said....'it looks like a Wasp'...:D

One thing's for certain....it sure as hell wont sound like one once you've finished with it....:thumb :D

I knew popping back in here from time to time would pay off eventually - fecking good on you Snoopy :thumb2 Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this 'build'! Although I think you should've stuck with the woefully inappropriate Tenere frame rather than the :sleep Enfield.... much more fun!

Or is the Enfield just a gearbox donor?

Love the thread, it's going to be great if it works or if it doesn't. Can't lose.

Good luck Snoopy!

not the scenery snoops! but good luck with the project, dont really see the reasoning behind it but never mind.

Nor me-have you ever ridden a diesel engined bike Snoopy?
I do a lot of work for Hatz Diesels in the UK and in their reception they have an Enfield fitted with a modified Benford Mixer diesel engine. When you finally kick it up it vibrates across the workshop floor when it is on the centre stand (actually moves faster than when it's being ridden). As for the riding experience-it is feckin aweful.
I've also ridden an offroad bike built for agricultural work and has big balloon tyres, that was slightly better but not much (feckin thing wouldn't wheelie:blast).

Here ya go

I was offered the chance to buy this bike unregistered a couple of years ago but turned it down. There was an electric start model which they did sell off but not sure where it went to.
