Snoopy , me and THE DRZ go trail riding

1150 never missed a bit.............beemers rules............:thumb2 fab write up glad to see somebody who fall off more than me offroading...........lmao...

Great write up Forry! Looks like you had a laugh. You certainly know how to entertain your visitors! :clap

Great pics Forry, you're really lucky to have so many decent off road tracks to sample! :thumb
I'm sure the Cambrian rally will be a piece of piss for you...:D

Forry, you're a bad man! Sending someone into a bog with a back tyre that looks like a ribbed condom. (Erm, just realised what I've typed!)

I kept coming off, not sure what it was :D but probably the full tank didn't help matters nor the choice of semi slick tyres and 5 ton of rear tail bag.

.....

Fixed it for you:augie

Looks like you had a cracking day, pity I couldn't get away earlier on the Sunday and I could have joined you - I didn't even get to the Green Welly before His Madge did a bunk.

As has been saidf you are spoilt for choice however my method of approach will have to be "seeking forgiveness is easier than obtaining permission" and just go for it on some of the land up here:rolleyes:

Have Fun

AndyT:cool:

The tyres are coming off when I find some decent supermoto wheels. Could be waiting a while as I'm not paying £400+ for them on eBay.

Discovered radiator damage this morning, just missed the piping but makes me wonder what will happen to the 350mile Safari tank when it arrives. Could be a quick £250 writeoff...

Fek sake Snoop thats a bummer :(
What you need a 350 mile tank for the one you've gots big enough.
By yourself a decent set of brush guards and get a sump gaurd that protects the water pump and your bikes ready to go :thumb

Nice scratches :augie

Did someone mention DR650:augie

There is a big problem with DRZ aftermarket sump guards - they rebound the noise from the dry sump and it's a massive pita on longer journeys. I found it drowned out the noise from my straight through can! The only solution from my research so far is to stick with the standard sump guard.

If you look at that mount hole at the bottom of the plastic you can see it's not straight. It compressed in and squashed the radiator! Quite lucky.

Safari tank is needed for bottom of Morocco. I was having to carry two jerrys as well and it wasn't possible (in reality mode).

GS brush guards were ordered on the Thursday but didn't arrive in time...

What's the lane's names?

Forry, nice report and pics/video. What are the lanes called? Dere Street and King's Road? They look like a few routes that were discribed to me a while back by an old green laner......
I'll have to bring my DRZ up there and take a rideout with you and Snoopy, no funny business though Snoop.......:augie
Timpo.

Get a grip on reality!

You have a straight-through can and you're complaining about noise reflected from a sump guard??

If you want a reliable DR-Z that you can can also use off-road, a decent (ie CRD or similar) sump guard is essential. If it's too noisy, put the standard can back on!

Greg

It is back on and has been for a while.

Put some foam between the engine and sump guard it also stops the crud from building up.
