Snorkel....check this out

Its about as cool as my arsehole the day after a vindaloo.

Oh the joy of the usual flippant responses on internet forums...:blast

Air intake is just above rh cylinder, and is a weakness in the 1200GS design for wading. Any cheap mod to help prevent water damage from a numpty taking their bike too deep has got to be good in my book. Sure the aesthetics can be worked on if need be, but so what? Pointless? Don't think so mate.

Nothing new there, if you watch the Touratech Bolivia DVD from 2004 you'll see Astrid Neudecker fit a portable snorkel to her 1200 and cross some deep rivers.

Easy enough to make from an old vacuum cleaner hose courtesy of your local council tip and some jubilee clips etc.

I wandered what his missus said when she found the vacuum cleaner had been integrated into his bike?:blast

If you fancy one I could soon knock you one up.Got one here off an old landrover and I could put a outboard on the back and you could do the English Channel.

Possibly designing a submersible bike wasn't a top priority for the BMW bods when working on the GSA design ?

But if you think it looks cool to ride a bike that looks like it's been rogered by a Dyson, then go for it

priority and flexibility

Exactly! BMW had (and have) their priority. If this make sense or not to you are purely about your priority (/-ies).

PS Even in ukgser mainstream is still that:augie

About as practical as an ashtray on a motorbike !!! If the water is that deep use a ferry, its probably cheaper and quicker.

Inspiring

This ridiculous mod would should surely encourage a numpty to take their bike too deep.

Electrics? ABS unit? Breathers? Starter motor? Alternator????

God knows what those on 'ere who think that pressure washers are the engines of Beelzebub are going to make of it?:augie
