ah thanks for sharing

three questions:

1) what is the second graph?

2) how come and you dynoed the bike at more RPM with the kit installed? what about the limiter?

3) so I take it rapid bike works on 12GS? total cost?

It's on "the other" post as wel, but what the heck :augie

1) My bike with Bos exhaust but without Rapid bike III

2) The Rapid bike acutaly allows you to upgrade the ref limiter by 1000rpm. It was set to +500 for safety margin.

3) Yep. It cost me about €600 for the RBIII and €150,- for the fitting and the dyno's ... ssssst...

Hi ex-cruise-me

can you please send me a Dyno that has no been made smaller for the site.

Full Dyno to Jeff-g[!at]dsl.pipex.com (replace the [!at] with a @ )
& any info on the rapid bike III

thanks jeff

We probably should merge the two threads...

...anyway...

By second graph I mean the second on the page. The one near the bottom.

More questions...

- Did your max. speed change with the new limiter? Did you measure it?

- How much worse did your consumption go? Really worse?

Oh that.

That is the air to fuel ratio line. Ideally it should read a flat line between 13 and 14 that indicates the optimum mixture between air and fuel.

I did not come around testing the max speed (not with my gps at least).
The fuel consumption really depends on the driving habit. I find myself going faster then before, and that gave more consumption in the old setting as wel. It is now down by about 5%.
But I expect it goes to the same level as before. In theory it should even give less fuel consumption.

Kevin it made 105.2 hp on the dyno and thats corrected, and a whooping 85 foot pounds of torque.
The bigger air snorkel has made the difference i reckon, i also have another identical snorkle i bought two from boxer.de one for my friend and myself and he know informs me hes selling his GS and he hasnt even fitted it yet, so i have one up for sale if anyone needs one ok.
Will post the chart when i get a mo to get it scanned, the bike pulls like a locomotive now, smoother loads of grunt and will pull top gear much lower down the rev range. Now to be fair i made sure the power controller was well set up previously, it took a bit of time fiddleing but know its well sorted.
tho co reading/burn reading is 13.2 nearly all of the graph which is near enough perfect, its runs high 13s up to about 3000rpm which is normal on the GS

Hi Steve I'm well interested in your spare bigger air snorkel if still available. Regards Peter.:type

I've got a staintune exhaust on my 06 12GSA and have just ordered the PC and K+N from Norman but have to wait 10 days whilst they stock check :(

Is the snorkel mod worth the effort, opinions seem to vary?

I need all the power I can get cos I'm fat and carry lots of crap with me all the time. That said, I'm a torque lover and tend to live at the lower end of the rev range.

First warm dry day this week and it was great being able to give it some ...... all I need is a tad more power!:thumb
