Just watching News at Ten and the first 15 mins dedicated to the light dusting of snow that's crippled the capital:confused: It's trully laughable how no buses were able to run in that:eek: Talk about a hysterical response to normal (to us) winter weather:D

I'm relaxed now.....I was ranting at one of my team down south today.....

them: "can't come into the office....it's snowing"

me: "how deep is it then?"

them: "about 2 inches but it's chaos"

me: "you better get your arse in the office if you know what's good for you"

......give 'em an inch.....:rob

snow eh

I travelled about 12 miles down steep and twisty road (aka country lanes) to get to work. How the heck do people in cars driving on flat roads end up in so much trouble? (Thats a rhetorical question of course... they are all crap drivers!)

Now to be honest, I was sideways a few times, but can't say I'm not looking forward to it tomorrow :thumb2

According to the Washington Post:

London2Feb2009.jpg

"A beautiful yet crippling blanket of snow fell across much of England on Monday, causing transportation nightmares but giving rise to thousands of cheery snowmen in a nation barely equipped for heavy winter weather. "

I watched the news and all bar 1 of our contractors went onsite yesterday, we delivered 18 and abit jobs, funny really one of our chaps came in from norfolk to collect a van load of kit drove to the venue in St. Albans set up all the kit to be told the local team (our clients could not make it to site)

We'll we're billing'em anyway, not my fault is it the place is all abit chilly is it.

right I'm going to Salisbury have a look at a job down there...:thumb2

Along similar lines. We watched the arrival of several very long lengths of pre-cast steel beams at a building site in Lime Street, EC3. The low loader driver carefully reversed the lorry and its heavy load up the narrow street, no mean feat in itself, only to discover the site was silent.

Bugger!

Off he drove again into the snowy wastes.

No doubt he'll be back tomorrow.
