Are tourance tyres supposed to last ?

I've only done just over 3500 miles on my GSA, & I reckon the rear won't last another 500 before it's totally shagged ........it's quite flat already

I thought these tyres were supposed to be almost everlasting ! :(

If it's flat then I should put some air in it :nenau

The tyres are fine for 6-10k, me thinks you are the problem.:aidan

Nothing lasts forever mate and I suspect you had a Tourance EXP which aren't good for longevity. They were designed to be stickier and provide supposedly better handling

I get between 5 and 6 k on normal tourance and about the same on Battlewings on UK riding:thumb If you get anymore than 6k on any tyre you aren't turning the loud knob enough:augie

I swapped my "EXP"s for non-"EXP"s at 6000miles. I'm hoping to get more from this set.

think yourself lucky, i can only just eek out 1100 miles out of my tkc rear tyre and 3000 miles from the front.

Had Tourance EXP's which lasted 5500 miles. Swapped to Tourance as supposed to last longer, but don't like them very much. They're much better than they were over the first 200 miles but the front and rear don't always seem to be working together all the time. When these are worn I'll be putting EXP's back on and will just have to put up with the lesser lifespan.

Only got 5500 from the rear Tourance EXP on my GSA but as stated the standard Tourance should be good for around 9000 miles on the rear and around 12000 on the front on average

I obviously don't pay enough attention to what the wheels are doing because when I changed from EXP to plain I couldn't tell any difference over what you would expect going from worn to new tyres.

Always got 5-6k on conti trail attacks on my old gsa, changed it in april and only got 3.5k out of the oe EXPs. Swapped for roadsmarts and now 4.5k into them which seem to be lasting well.

TR91's

never got more than 4k out of any tyre and I have tried them all.

On my first set of TR91'sand I have to say they are great and also appear to be wearing well,I got a big ride over the next few days and that will kill the rear off I reckon.

Changed my tires to EXP's from battlewings at about 7000mls. They were fine after 3500mls before we went on tour. 1700mls loaded with tent and the missus on the back (we don't pack a lot of stuff and she's a featherweight) squared the rear EXP off. Bike has now done about 12300mls. There is still plenty of thread left which under normal wear would see it past the 6000mls mark, maybe up to 6500mls. I rather change before then because of the squared rear. Next I'll try the TR91's, very good reviews and came out tops on a tire test. I also liked the Anakee's that the dealers loan bike had on. Both these tires should give you a good wear rate.
