for a variety of reasons I have missed my normal fuel stations this week, so today I made a point of filling up and the bike actually coughed and spluttered as I rolled up the road to the pumps, close call!:blast

reserve counter just got to 40 miles and the bike took 21.5 litres

so now I know, its ironic I never got this close on the thirsty Aprilia but maybe it was because filling up was such a frequent ritual!

That's good to know, how were you riding it during the countdown? I'm banking on an effective range of 200 miles. I seem to be getting about 50mpg at the moment. I do miss the 32 litre tank on my Stelvio NTX :( But the S10 is an easier ride for me due to it's lower centre of gravity, lighter clutch and smoother low speed fuelling.

mostly commuting in T mode - so would be better on a run I guess, I hadn't reset trip last time but a good estimate is 180 miles based on the odo, I reckon on a tour you would see 200 easy

How much difference do you think the mode would make to the MPG? Just wondering wether to try it just out of interest.

as its a fairly low tune of engine given the cc of the lump, I would think not much assuming the same routes and speeds, I think fuel use would only shoot up if you got into the red line area in either mode?
might give it a try too

You should get 22l in early, I have managed that without puttering to a halt, also gone further than 40 miles on reserve.

Loads of range / mpg / reserve topics on the US site. 50 on reserve is possible. 160 to 200 before reserve is typical.

My best was 197 mile day two up in alps before warning. At home I average high 40s gallon with light on around 175 and easy 40 left.
