The Rockster is based on the standard R1150R, with added extras from other bikes in the current BMW range. It shares the same engine, frame, gearbox, swingarm and electrics, but the headlights come from the R1150GS. Other parts, such as the Telelever sliding tubes, instruments and front mudguards are sources from the R1100S. You will have a choice of two colours, Citrus Green or Orange, and prices will be around the same as the standard R1150R.

It has a certain mad max / streetfighter cool about it IMHO

Made me laugh when I saw it at the NEC. Talk about importing the worst bit of the GS! Does look good, though, for daylight use only....

Picture from Ally Pally - they must have taken the worst from each model and thrown it together?

Maybe size is important?

Animal, animal - my man - can we talk please.......

(quick costume change: Sheepskin coat, pork pie hat, fake Rolex, chunky gold bracelet and shades)

What Mrs. Animal needs, before you blow all that money on a new Rockster, is an R1100R for a year or two - just to see if she gets on with them.

And by dint of the most amazing coincidence, I just happen to have the exact model she needs, for sale !

With ABS, screen, handguards, panniers - you know it makes sense ! check out R1100R for sale in "for sale or wanted" forum. A snip at £3,395 o.n.o. - barely run in at 33,000 miles.

Oh well, worth a try......:)

Mrs Animal has already owned an R1100R, the only problem being the seat height (she's short, bless her)
The new R1150R comes with a very low seat option, so she's gonna try one and see how it goes.

Besides, the 1150 looks far better than the 1100 ;)

All that from a Hornet owner ;)

We'll try one, then we'll see.
We're also gonna try a 749, but I'm gonna wait until the weather is a bit better first...
