So off-roaders, what's next?

How about an MCC Trial

http://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/

Either the Edinburgh (about now) or Exeter (1st weekend after New Year) or the Land's End (Easter)

Trailriding in the dark should satisfy all your cravings

Be quick EXETER entrys close 29th Oct, I have entered in a reliant robin.

I have done THE LANDS END and THE EDINBURGH, the EXETER is cold hence the car, and they are strict about tyres, TORANCES are O.K.

If Forry and AndyT are making the effort of coming all that distance, then it would be rude not to pop accross on the Ferry!:augie

A named attendee trailride could be organised, but have you Irish tossers all got pogo type bikes, as most of the routes are un-GSable.:green gri
You've got me planning now!:thumb2

Timpo.

How about a ride in the Peaks?

Step forward all you Peaks trailriders!

I can lead one. Marple/Buxton/Castleton area.

Experienced GSable only (and big trail bikes). Trails tend to be rocky not muddy, so tyres not too critical but expect damage if yer drop it!
As I'll be on my HP we wont be going where "only pogos dare to tread" but some routes are a bit tricky - so it wont be GS friendly if you know what I mean.

What weekend would be best? (Not Sunday 18th Nov)

Meet would be in Marple at a 24hr garage/shop/toilets. Free car park for vans (don't know about trailers tho) 1 mile away.

If this is Royches (Mouse?), then we'll be coming up this bit:

If enough people are interested, and we can decide on a date, I'll start a seperate thread on the Peaks section.

It's abouttime more of you sampled The Tube, Royche Clough, Chapel Gate and Tenter Hill !

That's not fair your all ready half legless.:)

Am I right in assuming that you are now out of hospital?
Hope the pain has eased and you are starting to cope with getting around etc.
Best wishes

No mate, well Im out of Wrexham. I'm now residing in my private suite at the Capio Euxton Hall hospital for a period of paid convelesence :D

Under specialist care with Sports Physio and dedicated consultant. Should be home within the week and a very pleasant place to be in the meantime.

Private healthcare, feckin marvelous!! :thumb2

Oh and theres a pub 200 yards away so Im hoping Rick and Jim are breaking me out for a beer fairly soon

Cheers, G

I visited Gareth at the hospital this afternoon, the crafty bugger has pulled a nurse:clap

Donna, she asked her colleague to pass her number to him and get in touch:hug

Naturally I've requested photos.

Height of discretion Tim, good effort

Anyway, cant be arsed, besides which she's Welsh! :hide

Do you want her number you crusty old sod? Little light relief whist Tina's away :thumb2

... what are we going to do next?

Great ideas and offers so far! :clap

There are two other ride-outs scheduled for November:

Wreford's Hertfordshire run on Sunday 4th and

Roy's popular Wombat Hunt in Surrey on Sunday 18th.

Keep it coming... :D

P.S. I personally wouldn't be able to lead a run that meets Timpo's standards but I'd be happy to join you in Wales or Yorkshire or the Peaks or wherever - as per the master's gentle reminder, I have some recces to do... :augie

After my brilliant introduction to the world of GSers at the Cambrian Rally on my mighty DRZ400, (nice times by the way Snoopy on the Deathwings) I've still got my competition head on and fancy a crack at riding equally slowly at the Chiltern Enduro Club Hare and Hounds event with details here .... http://tinyurl.com/3dw63g

I think I'm going to get addicted to this sort of thing

Rich

But what / where is "the tube"?
Mouse, the Tube is that little tight very bendy steep trail between Mellor Golf Course and Mellor Cross. Down is straight forward. Up isn't.
Should be a challenge on the KTM :D

Lovely to hear a fruitful reply or two, so what is my choice?
Well, not wanting to compete (:augie), although I can, but wanting to ride trails, as either a host or hosted rider, I really do have an option or two.
The threat of the Irish riders (Dakar Gal + co) coming over has put me into a two day trail ride buzz. But, Spout and Mouse have tickled my taste buds for a hoot in the Peaks.
I'll still offer my services to any riders wanting a free tour into Wales, but any enduros may be given a wide birth. I'm not as quick as I was when I was a young lad!
So, who's coming to Wales?

Timpo.

Move on Folks, let's have a weekends bash on the lanes, please!
Tomorrow me and Teach are going to The Motorway to clear the lane clear in the forestry section. It looked like about 50 round woods that need chopping, but it is the best section of the lane so it is worth it once riders have cleared the easy moor/bog section of the route.:augie. I'm sure Loz will agree with me.............:thumb
Best get in the garage, and sharpen my chopper up!

Timpo.

Trail Rides

Ok guys,

Lots of options and venues being banded - so who can lead a ride out then?

Wales or Peaks or Dales? All three?

Chuck your hats in the ring and lets sort it out!

I'm up for them all BTW! :)

Timpo, I'm sure we can help your old bones get around the day! :thumb

Cheers, old fat Rick.

Before the end of November as my Chauffeur Andyt has to go back to work.:thumb2
Better get the new timing chain ordered for the DR tomorrow.:thumb2
