So, what MUST you have on your GS?

1st 3 items essential

change screen, I went for A Give AF330:thumb2
Headlight, its crap, cured by use of an HID kit:thumb2
Mudslinger, keeps shite off the rear suspension and peoples legs:thumb2

Everything else is more a personal choice, Foreinstance i have
Brake pedal extender
Tank Pads
Fenda extenda and beak
plus much more. Possibly the most individual item to change is the seat. I used tony archer to gel pad mine and a few other adjustments.

What i would say is that a lot of these things should be sorted by BMW and they shouldnt need sorting out by customers, not when a bike is this expensive.

IMO

whilst you are looking at what bits you can bolt to your bike, if you havent already done so you may wish to consider some advanced training. the best accessory a rider can have. i know its a bit cliche but its still true.

For £50 have you considered a BikeSafe Day with your local plod?

I did this last summer. Its a very enjoyable day out with a good meal thrown in with the price too.

After Bikesafe then Hopp Rider Training. They teach you how to do this! What was I thinking with the outfit :blast. Some very serious riders in the 'A' group and it was very entertaining seeing the back ass of a S1000RR and a Hayabusa as I got passed (several times) in the straights at Cadwell. I never did a track day before and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also with HRT you don't need no kinky track day leathers either. The Advanced Machine Skills day usually done on an inactive RAF runway is very good as well. HRT highly recommended. Best training I ever did on my bike.

One of the instructors on an Adventure demonstrated how to use panniers as a knee slider which was very impressive sparks and all. :D

Hmmm:)))
I just spend over £2000 in NN and TT products and still room for more , is a hobby after all :D

For me:

HID's
Magnum Horns
Mudsling
De-Cat headers
Accelerator Module/PC or similar
Sargent Seats (not for everyone though)
Zteknic Screen

Fixed it for you

So you can see the true angle of tilt. (Or lack of!)

Very good:D.

I would have preferred Touratech yellow and a triangle personally but hey your just learning! I also need to lose about 4kg. Can your photoshop help with that?

I might just make that my new avatar!

Is there anything else I MUST have I wonder?

Without a doubt the MUST have is a couple of weeks in the alps. Save the money on bits and bobs, something to do next winter :D
and get yourself through, up, over some of the alpine roads. Best money you will ever spend.:thumb2

Spending MORE money

I suppose that one should not be too surprised that even after FIVE AND A HALF years, this thread is still running! Anyway, whatever you add to this 200kg machine make sure that you have fittrd engine protection bars (and even tank protectors too) because you WILL drop it sooner or later.
