So what's this Halvarssons stuff like, then?

So I've just got back from collecting my new jacket and trousers from Tony at Skins in Brackley. Both fit lovely, just need the arms shortened a little, but that can wait till I'm back from a Scotland trip in a couple of weeks. Got soaked in my old kit riding over, almost felt wrong sticking the new stuff over wet Tshirt and boxers
Happy dayz:thumb2

Is it possible to alter motorcycle textile clothing, in only have a 29" leg and 38" waist, it is very difficult to get trousers to fit??

You def need to take a look at halvarssons stuff then. I tried a standard trouser at MCALeicesters and it was nowhere near a fit, but from that the rep that was there that day pointed me at the alternate sizes. Shorter leg with larger waste and hip size. I wasn't too hopefull but asked Tony to get them for a try, and they are spot on.
The arms of the jacket can be shortened up to about 2" aparently without affecting the waterproof lining.

Is this something Halvarssons can do if I send the jacket back to them through the dealer ???

Just found out that Halvarssons will put me in touch with a tailoring company that they use and the alteration won't affect my warranty.

I've got a Halvarssons Thunder Classic leather jacket. Had it for four years now, Excellent bit of kit. Still like new although I use a waterproof overjacket if it's going to rain

I purchased the Halvarssons Prime jacket, Prince trousers and Halvarssons base layer all from MCA Leicester. I did look at Rukka and Klim "just couldn't bring myself to spend that sort of money however good" the Halvarssons isn't meant to be as warm as the Rukka and me being a Sweaty Betty this is a good thing .

I'm my honest opinion it is the most comfortable gear I've ever had, I removed the outlast liner today as was 24+ today opened the vents, truly comfortable. Only time I got warm was in the traffic, my head!!! I have a Roof Desmo that isn't the best for ventilation but it's a great lid for me.

Only time will tell, but the attention to detail and quality is to be fair up there with Rukka & Klim. Oh and comes with braces a first for me!!!! I like!!!.

I guess an update on my gear might be useful.

Generally it's wearing well. I could really do with the sleeves another 1" or so shorter, but as they've been shortened as much as they can there's nothing more to be done. I have to wear my gloves inside all the time which is time consuming, esp when out as a group, I'm fast becoming known for being last to be ready:mad:
They still fit great otherwise and are fabulously comfy.
However, the heatproof panel on the trouser bottoms is woefully small and hasn't stopped the cats on my Pans exhaust burning holes next to the panels:blast. So at some point they're going back for repair.
But the worst issue, is they're far from waterproof.
It's not so much a fault, but poor design. The jackets front zip is unprotected with only short bits of Velcro on the flap, rather than the whole length.
At the moment I wear a cheap Oxford hi viz overjacket in wet weather. This then keeps me dry, and has the added advantage of stopping the jacket from soaking up so much water, which can take a week to dry out.
Oh, another thing, I had to pay quite a lot extra to have a proper full length joining zip added to both halves. They only use two lengths across their entire range, which means when you get into the largest sizes the zip barely goes half way round. Bloody ridiculous really. Twats on the stand at the show said it was so big jackets can fit to smaller trousers...., like that's gonna happen ffs. I'm hoping to have a word with the rep I met at mca's, but I've mislaid his details atm.
