I guess some of you use soft luggage.
I have some Oxford sports soft bags which I'd like to throw over the F800GS .

The under side of the bag is above the exhaust can, but only just. The can obviously gets pretty warm and I am not sure if there is anything I should do to protect or insulate the bag.

Any views or experience appreciated.

Cheers
John

Roll bag

Before I traded it for a GSA1200 a couple of years ago I had an f800GS.

What I found to be useful was a touratech rack and Givi mounting plate with a small Givi topbox just big enough to take my BMW Enduro crash helmet. All good for carrying waterproofs and generally carrying a small amount of stuff.

For touring tho, I added a BMW roll bag which I used in conjunction with the top box. That provided enough storage for a weeks touring.

Hope that helps!

The Wolfman soft luggage I use was supplied with a piece self- adhesive heat shield. I did not use it for the bags as I have panier frames which keep the bags away from the exhaust. I did use it on my tent which is packed just above the exhaust and it seems to work. For a tenner it is worth a try on your Oxford bags before you shell out on some different bags.

Thanks. I'll give the self adhesive shield a try. Will probably do the job.
