Soft panniers

I have a set of oxford soft panniers and when i strap them to my 1150 one looks pretty close to the exhaust. Its been ok for short trips....ie weekends. But im worried if i go away for a few weeks it my start rubbing against the exhaust and melt through. Any advice how to combat this....(other than buy hard panniers! ha ha). Cheers guys

Put a layer of foam rubber or dense sponge across the seat and under the pannier centre section which is thick enough to raise them

For me, common or garden elasticated bungee straps have worked on several trips to Italy, Slovenia & Croatia.

I melted my oxford panniers on the exhaust on a trip to Europe recently. The tip I got to stop it happening again was to get one of these...

and attach it to the back of the panniers. Haven’t tried it yet, but it seems like a good idea.
