Soft Shandy Drinkers, take two - 21/22/23 February 2025

My thanks to the finder of the 7 Stars; great service at short notice. Likewise to those that went hunting for other sites, after our first choice was forced to cancel on us.

I am in for camping (no longer motorhome’ing). I’ll contact the pub later to make my booking. I might have to come down early on Saturday???

Being in a small car restricts my carrying capacity considerably. I will though still bring a BBQ, gas bottle, and BBQ tongs etc, along with a table to put it all on.

I was due to bring a chair for Paul, which probably won’t now fit. If someone can bring one for him, super. Similarly, I won’t now be able to bring bods’ morning breakfasts.

What times do people plan on arriving on:

A. Friday

B. Saturday

I've just booked in with Gill, arriving on Friday lunchtime and leaving Sunday.

I shall be in one of Toddy's Terrific Tents!

I can bring some camping chairs so that the old and infirm (like Paul G) have somewhere to sit ;) :D

I tried to book for dinner on Friday night but Gill said she'll just sort al that out with us on the day.
I'm hoping the legend that is Don will get his sausage out on Saturday.

Looking forward to lots of shandy to make it an Epic weekend of southern softieness.
 
Aiming to leave work at midday,

Google runes says 2hrs , so allow an extra 1/2

So arrival somewhere between 2& 3pm

Staying Friday & Saturday night, departing Sunday

If Wapppers is unable to bring breakfast stuff, the Pub says you can prebook breakfast

Should we take advantage of that, or do we still want peeps to bring stuff?

Also if you don't fancy the Tank museum on Saturday, Monkeyworld is just over the road

or purbeck shooting ground is seven miles down the road, if we wanted to try and get a session in
 
I guess we'll be there after lunch Friday sometime. Decided not to bring much in the way of breakfast stuff as we'll either go out for lunch or have the pub breakfast. There's also a nice place up the road called Rainbow Garage Cafe if it's open.

As far as UIK news programs go, there is only one place in Dorset. They could be talking about anything, an air disaster in Shaftesbury, but they always show a picture of Durdle Dor if it's anything to do with Dorset. This landmark is just a couple of miles and a heart attack inducing flight of steps away from Wool.
 
Just booked up with Gill for Friday & Saturday, VW T5 Camper Van with mains hookup for a little home comfort, should be there around 2-3pm.

She says she can do breakfast no drama she just needs numbers in advance.

A man answered when I rang, I told him I wanted a pitch, he then shouted for Gill I assume she was busy out back prepping meals.
 
Local weather girl just said it will be raining and gusty on Thursday and Friday.

Weather improves on Saturday.

Best bring a brolly and coat and wear some stout shoes just in case.
 
Friday night is most likely raining, so not exactly Braai weather.

Saturdays forecast shows clear, probably the better night for a fire.

No sadly, it’s the woman on the regional BBC news team.

Jo Blythe, now she’s one damn fine looking girl. Somehow I find myself getting distracted and then have no idea what she just told me about the weather. :D
 
I'm in, will be there at some point on Saturday, in the car, maybe bringing a tent, but probably kipping in the car... 'cause I can and it's kitted out for it. Will aim to get to there for the epic trek from the 7 Stars to the Ship :D

Anything else needed for the BBQ? Bread/rolls/salad :eek: I do have a bottle of Advokaat at the back of the drinks cupboard... snowballs anyone?
