Soft Shandy Drinkers, take two - 21/22/23 February 2025

Great weekend. Many thanks to all involved. Found 3 bags of wood in the back of the Passat when we were packing up, forgot all about them. There seemed to be plenty on Saturday night though.

Interesting that several people felt ill to some degree. Mrs cookie and I both had dodgy tummies this morning. Mine could be attributed to a "bad pint". I feel like I had a few and statistically one could be "bad" Not the missus who hardly drank a thing though.

Neither of us are prone to that sort of thing, so it's odd that both of us were affected.

I had the big sausages & and a baked spud, felt fine

The pub meals were very good,

but no pints for me , just cider

There are a shit load of virus's doing the rounds atm

you may have picked up one of those

I had cider cans, cider pints OB's, thin and thick sausage and have not had any adverse effects in the slightest. Must be the spuds/potato salad. I even had more fat sausage when I arrived home and am good. All meat was freshly packed and frozen for us and then thawed on Friday night. Sorry you guys had the runs.. Thanks to all sundry. Great weekend. Thank you to Paul for getting it slightly off the ground and for Ian getting us over the line. Momentum, Found a way to win Toddy..Next week I shall be Italian mixed with French blood...Dini de Salve
Richard is now promoted to sous chef on the BBQ after having past his apprenticeship! Next year again. PS, those that were sick, did you have any chicken which also available..

This deserves recognition - anyone who was not in attendance won't have witnessed this firepit. Functionally, it was exceptional (lots of oxygen for the wood so it burned cleanly, stainless steel construction, the mesh contained the fire and sparks whilst radiating a ton of heat and the rim around the top served as a warmer for the jacket spuds).

This was Ian's home made invention - used to be a washing machine drum! Fabulously effective design.
