I have rehab and I’m a bit fucked for a few weeks now until my reconstructed tendon heals so camping isn’t the best or most comfortable idea but I appreciate the thought mate. There’ll be other events I can attend once I’m back in good health.

I have had a call from my sister, asking if I’d go up to see our 90-year old mum on my return from a month away. My sister is usually around but will be away. It’s a family three line whip thing, which means that I’ll have to duck out of the soft shandy affair, as it’s the first weekend I’m back. It’s only fair as my sister does a lot with mum, ferrying her to the doctors etc etc.

C. When we went in the winter, we pre-booked a table in the pub restaurant for the Friday night. If several of you plan on eating together, it might be a good idea to do the same. Likewise, those that wanted it, pre-booked breakfast on the Sunday.

Will be ordering the sausage by end of week. So far it's only 3 takers. That's fine by me, but don't be turning up and asking me to cook your burgers/bangers/marinated duck thighs. It'll be a quiet braai for the food and a separate barrel/area for the bonfire...PS for Veggies exceptions will be made. Spud and a corn cob or 2...
