Just picked a R1150GS up with this rear torque arm fitted.

Just wondering what the supposed benefits are if any?
I don't consider myself a good enough rider if it's meant to reduce flexing at the rear end etc to even notice the benefit.

I have a OE GS torque arm to go on in its place if needs be, as not into all the aftermarket bling that's slowly being removed.

Yep it's shorter to raise the rear end more which sharpens the handling. The R1150GS and R1100S Sport or BC have the shortest torque arms available as standard from BMW - yours could be even shorter. It does make a difference:thumby:

Might whack the original on to see if I can notice any difference. (See above, don't think I'm good enough to even notice tbh)

Only likely to be useful off road guess, but I assume if it's got a slightly shorter wheel base it changes the handling on road then.
Shorter wheel base you will have quicker steering , handy for slow speed manoeuvring but I think angel bit harder on shaft u - joint
