I have been looking through the forum and just decided to post this to see what you lot can tell me. Im new to this site and have just got myself a GS1200 a few months ago, i have a few mods already but would like to know what else there is out there for the bike, what you would recomend etc. im looking for some bars etc to protect the heads, also does anyone know where i can get a spare set of rims for the bike? i want a spare set with the nobblys on so i can swap them out when i want to ride the dirt as i want to keep the touring tyres as i use it to commute with as well. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad

Some advice: one spells it like this: 'accessories' :D

yer thanks I now know you can spell but can you read? because i was asking for advise on my GS not a spelling lesson!

Welcome aboard the good ship, UKGSer....

Most of what you need to know is available via the Search button, but....

Bars? H&B seem a popular choice, there are lots of threads about fitting, what pipes they will work with etc. etc. For example: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214431

Rims? I assume you mean wheels? I guess BuMW will sell you a set. Failing that, Ebay. Or, if you cough up £12 for full site subscription, you will be able to look through the For Sale section. Chances are something will turn up.
There is a bod breaking a 1200GS in a thread very close to yours.... give him a call. Or try: http://www.motorworks.co.uk/?ref=ukgser They are a UKGSer sponsor (or at least buy space on the site) so good to support them, perhaps?

Other bling? What have you bought already? Look through Nippy Norman's catalogue, again a site sponsor. http://www.nippynormans.com/ and Wunderlich... and try Touratech.... between that lot you will be as bling as blinged can be.

One tip: Look at the stickies in the 1200 section. Lots of useful links to all things 1200.

Second tip: READ THE MANUAL

Third tip: Never ask about oil... or its close neighbour, fuel.... please.

Sorry that was my sense of humour! should of put a smilie on the end!

Hi SurfBumBrad.

DO NOT EVER look at a Touratech catalogue. Your life will be ruined, trying to pay for all those shiny bits. Stainless this, Billet ally that :drool :drool :drool

Basically, if you can think of an acesory, then some company will make it. Wether you need it or not is another matter..

GS riders seem to be like magpies (amongst other things :augie :augie ).

Now where did I put the details for that Billet aluminium foo foo valve protector???
