Yesterday riding home peacefully minding my own friggin business some dumb doos in a pink(of all friggin colours) fiat uno sideswipes me at about 50kph  .
For reasons still unknown to me i amazingly don't fall.
So i do the gentelmanly thing, indicate left look for safe place to stop, i see the dolt following me i figure right - stop be cool don't offer him a nice close-up of my leather and carbon protected fist. My buddy riding behind me on his ducati(don't hold it against him) also stops. Uno driver probably figures the situation just got to dangerous and speeds off( At this point i must point out that my buddy is a six foot four 145kg black man, and there's huge fear of these situations in south africa)
SOOOO...

Crashbars did their job amazingly and took most the impact, bmw head protector on right hand side is badly scuffed but doesn't appear to have any cracks. Is there other damage that maybe i can't see?
To replace the scratched head protector is gonna cost 600 bucks so it's not that bad and i can always keep it as an offroad cover.
I dont wanna claim from insurance and i'm not keen on the schlep involved in taking the bike in to be checked out - or should i? :nenau

on a last note i am verry glad i was on a gs, had it been a super/sports or even a single cylinder bike i'm pretty sure id be legless now, and not the type of legless i usually am on a friday night

Too many Dumb assess

Sounds like you had a lucky escape. Glad you're OK and the bike isn't too mangled. :thumb
In the UK (esp London) there is never a time to mind oyur own business. You have to watch the idiots all the time!!. Constant vigilance!!!

Still have lots of fun though :D :D

Well thank heaven's you are O.K. :clap

I wouldn't think the bike is in need of a check over if you rode home OK and everything is still working :nenau having said that you are the one who can see the damage so only you can decide :thumb

Fiat Punto did the same thing to me in traffic today - no damage except to my saintly halo that has now slipped following my suggestions as to what to do with himself.... Clearly Fiat are the new Volvo (or ahem, BMW). Gald you're OK.

Ja nee..... donnerse doos kar drywers.

Amazing, I spend about 800km/ 500miles a week on the roads around London and the South East, and still sh!t myself daily at car drivers who do not seem to note bikers.

Keep eyes open and headlights on.

WRT the protectors, leave them alone, no use replacing untill you sell the bike.

glad to hear you stayed up. its crazy out there.
i broke the standard crashbars on my adv in the same way. left scratches and dents in the car door. now i have hepco becker bars, haven't had a chance to use them though.

should have been on and after him double quick - tut tut.

perhaps with a slight roughing up - seeing as he started it :thumb
