Just wanted to clarify this (BELLA- PUPPY) true facts story to clear up a few things which I have found out maybe your interested maybe your notbut here it is for others if there interested or not
Ok here goes.
there was this couple from woodbrige (no its not a rhyme), Suffolk who at the time had 3 dogs all recue one rescued from pikeys others bought from variouse homes! Way back the couple had owned a Airdale terrier that had (at some time) died.
anyhow after a period of time they wanted another airdale. But like a lot of people here do not beleive in the buying of puppies but the recuing of dogs.
So finaly they spotted an Airdale in Fobbing, Essex it was a "" Rescue Home""
the airdale named Maizey (now as seen in SUYD) maizey was 14 months so on returning to suffolk after period time it was discovered that maizey was carrying pups shock
they called the rescue home to and broke the news. it transpired that there stud dog a black labrador had done the deed, they had thought it was safe to let them mingle as maizey to there knowledge was not in season.
they offered to take Maizey back and return the Fee but as you can imagine they had a bond with this dog and it wasnt going anywhere.
7 pups were born and advertised for sale on the popular webb site pets4homes (which is also has a large rescue section) at £250.00 each all sold
except dexter (as previously mentioned) the buyers pulled out as he had a hernier, i did see the cute fellow and as previouse mentioned found it hard to leave him. he has a small sticky out bit on his belly (from mums cord) which when older is a simple opp and 2 stitches then all done. Dexter they advertised him in local papers for £150.00 if he wasnt sold they said no problem Dexter will become loved Dog number 5 they live in a nice rural setting large house with over an acre of land.
I for my part in this terrible wrong doing was to drive my friends to woodbridge in the snow (4x4, you do not here the anti 4x4 brigade spouting in this snow do you, but thats another thread another Day or is it ???)
ok questions raised.
1. why has a rescue home got a Stud Dog ? answer = I realy do not know maybe its a way off earning money to fund dog rescue
2. some people would say they should have given the puppies away! but there have been expences, puppies taken to vets, jabs, worming, front line (flee) micro chipping, and advertising them for sale, feeding them what is this cost
Personaly when it comes to selling puppies i think they should carry a price compared to Free of charge it makes people think more about there purchase rather than people having something just because it was free i understand £250 is a lot of money to a lot of people. 2 - 3 weeks average family shopping bill compared to a lifespan of your chosen dog. imagine dog owners trying to put a price on there dogs life with them trying to justify there worth
anyhow just thought I would put the record straight to the facts of the puppy tale for those that might want to know. Its not quite right when someone gets the facts wrong and assumes about the amount something that they know nothing about!

Posts: 15,488 I've trawled out this thread due to someone in the popular SUY Dog thread enthusing wildly about some irresponsible twat allowing their Airedale Terrier to get caught by a Labrador (accidently it seems) and is now selling the puppies for £250!!!
They're accidentally cross bred dogs FFS! The person who did the post (Puma?) makes out as if this is a good thing and these dogs are now a thing to be covetted. Who knows what the type and temperement of these pups will be? Certainly not the twat who's selling them. They're mongrels FFS. Who's the prove that the sire dog is a purebred Lab? These might well turn out to be the best dogs ever but give them away. Dont' profit on your own crass carelessness. You'd need to be half daft to pay £250 for these pups.
Responsible pedigree breeders are careful about matching sires and dams from the same breed to get good temprement. The reasons for this are fairly obvious I would have thought.
I would nueter the Airedale (after neutering the silly cow who's selling them).
Irresponsible dog owners make my blood boil and so do flowery half wits.
