Depends on the weather really...:augie but long range forecast looks OK for this Sunday. Will be doing 6 easy lanes around the Forrest of Bowland taking in Salter Fell, nothing too intense but off road tyres will be necessary.

Meeting place is at the Shell petrol station at Haydock Island at J23 off the M6 on the A580 (East Lancs road) at 9:30am (N53 28.282 W2 38.193) The whole loop should only take around 6 hours with minimal stops, so bring some cereal bars and a camelback....

Usual off road rules apply. I'm going off roading, if you wanna tag along it'll be a hoot, but if you break any bones or your bike, I am not responsible :rob

Steve, i might be able to make it, I'll let you know later this week.
So i take it the no food group going then :D

Would love to come but setting off for Sardinia on Saturday. Maybe next time :thumb

I might be up for this.

I'll confirm later :thumb2

Hate to be a party pooper but was not the road over Salter Fell banned to bikes about 10 years ago? No idea but seem to recollect that an order was put on like those in the Yorks area. If so and advertising only inviting trouble!

Deffo gonna do this Sunday even if it's pissy rainy....Should be a bit more interesting, and the river crossing will be a blast if it's been pissing down for a while...:green gri

If it is raining, I'm missing one of the lanes out cos it'll just be 10" deep mud and probably well overgrown = no fun to ride through...

I might be about :augie

Great stuff Jon!:thumb Rudiemoto is coming out to play as well...... I guess we'll be having a lot more food stops then :augie

Anyway, here's a taster of the lanes and trails we'll do....Carl got unlucky on the rocky climb on Salter...

Tell me about it!! I checked the weather forecast before and it said heavy rain  fecking typical....ah well, got sealskinz and waterproof gear and the river should be interesting :D

Chris from a-spec might be up for this too. I hope he doesn't mind me pre signing him up :augie

It looks like I'm now joining the ranks for the redundant so I have plenty of time for doing this sort of thing now. So if I get stuck out on the moor I wont get in trouble with work on monday :JB
