I've got a rattly disc, and I understand I'll be needing Vern's fix, which, as a lot of people here have done it, will work.
I've done the search and looked at the pictures, but am buggered if I'm not confused.
All this talk of filing down lugs I dont get. Do I file the lug flat? As in, there should be no indents, shoulder, or oval fittings sticking out?
Even Nevin tried to explain it this morning, and It just didnt go in.
The disc, being harder than the wheel hub, has over time worn away the edges of the lugs, and so been pushed further into the middle of the hub? So to rectify this, file away the bit that hasnt worn down flush with the bit that has worn, so the disc lays flush with the lug, and not in some kind of locating bit?
Please help,
