Not sure where to post this but it appeared on FB yesterday.

Video shows them getting the carplay or android screen on the tft

A wind up maybe?

Your bike's own screen.

A compact device, hidden inside the bike, that brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the original screen. No extra screen on the handlebar.

Interesting. Sounds like a plug and play?

I really does make sense..I like my Nav 6 but to have the easy option to throw google maps via phone on TFT when needed sounds great.

With the new Tiger having onscreen Carplay it must set the precedent for the "big brands" to make it available on the tft's

Whilst I'd quite like to have ACP on my TFT, I already have it on the INNOVV N2. I also quite like having it high up and closer to eyeline for navigation.

I'd be very careful about loading third party software on the TFT. I've had one go completely blank on me once and it is very disconcerting.

10” TFT over on facebook

From his posts:

Below is an explanation addressing your questions regarding the method we applied to the BMW GS TFT display:

Thanks for the feedback, but there seems to be a slight misunderstanding about our architecture. We are NOT overriding or erasing the original factory software, nor are we using an external MCU. This is running directly on the native NXP i.MX6 DualLite hardware platform of the TFT.

Here is how it actually works:

• Zero Loss of Factory Data: We have completely reverse-engineered the inter-core communication and successfully established full connectivity to the factory layers.
All essential vehicle metrics—including RDC (Tyre-Pressure Monitoring), CAN-bus alerts, engine warnings, and service messages—are fully captured, preserved, and inherited by RabiOS. Riders will lose absolutely nothing.

• Dual-Boot / Seamless Switch: Because we maintain the original data streams, implementing a safe, quick toggle to switch back and forth between the stock BMW HMI and the new custom UI layer is fully supported by design.

• Performance & UI Speed: Regarding the UI speed—what you see in the photo is just the primitive, unoptimized kernel splash screen (boot logo) rendered directly to the raw framebuffer during early boot initialization. It is not the final application interface. Once the GPU hardware acceleration layers for our new UI are fully mapped, the rendering performance will be exceptionally fluid.

We deeply understand that riders want both safety and premium features. We known what we do. RabiOS is engineered to be a seamless upgrade, not a destructive override.

Nearly as good as Honda’s system. Just plug your dongle in and you have CarPlay on the main screen on my NT1100.

Honda's system has its issues as well, though. The latest IOS update (26 & 27) rendered Honda's system unusable for a while on certain vehicles. Not sure if it has been fixed now. One of our guys who brought, of all things, a Gold WIng to the Picos this year had been having trouble with it for months. He said it was a known, widespread problem that only affected Honda. By September it still hadn't been fixed by either Apple or Honda who each blamed the other. Some problem with passport/handshake? It works for about 5 minutes and then the screen just pixelates.

I had no such issues with my N2......this update at least.

I thought the AT also needed a bluetooth headset connected?
Just use a Bluetooth dongle

Nothing to do with IOS. It’s the phone . My iPhone 17 pixelates but I use my iPhone SE I bought off here for £90 and works flawlessly using iOS 26.

But it could be better .
Yet it’s been available on the Goldwing for EIGHT years and the AT for six years .

Yamaha are the first other major manufacturer to have CarPlay and about time !

CF Moto also have it on some bikes such as the 1000 MT-X.
KTM have a built in navigation device that doesn’t need a phone connection .

So surely BMW will do something with that old TFT that they’ve gainly hung on to for nearly a decade .

And that is acceptable to you, is it? If that was happening on a GS TFT I don't think you would be quite so forgiving. Academic, though, because you're right, it's the new chip in the 17 that seems to be the issue, not Honda and others.

I think that it's too much to expect to have on one screen. The ACP patch proposed on this thread is not something I like the look of, personally; it's like "ghosted" on and doesn't sit very well. On a car with ACP it would never be available on the dash, it is always on a separate screen. Yes, mainly for ergonomic and safety reasons as it would be dangerous to thread your hand through or around the steering wheel to touch the screen, but I would find it difficult to see what I was touching where my TFT is located; much better to have it higher up. I also don't like finger marks on my dash so no touch screen is fine by me. Just look at the state of our EICAS screens, and they're not even touch screens!

It may be that BMW know this and don't find it a solution worth pursuing. At least not until they renew the TFT which may be a two-tier taller affair or something.

I believe that aftermarket screens also suffer this problem, but I just don't have a iPhone 17, so It doesn't worry me much.

Perfectly . I bought the SE when I still had my iPhone 15 (which worked faultlessly with CarPlay) as I wanted a smaller phone to leave in Wing cubby hole to save removing phone at every cafe/petrol stop.

CarPlay built in is ace .
A mate has bought a 450GS and fitted a Carpuride unit which is supposed to work with the wonder wheel . It doesn’t . He’s also having the faulty TFT replaced this week on first service 🤦‍♂️

That's what warranties are for. Like my microswitch. There's always something. Gotta be better than Austrian head gaskets, cylinder linings, cams, followers, electrical gremlins, or even Japanese oil consumption issues ;). It is not a widespread issue on any BMW with TFT, his is a one-off.

Surely (don't say: don't call me Shirley, you plonker) that's a CAPURIDE issue. My N2 works with the wonderwheel just fine, although I tend to use my finger (it's easier).
