Something in addition?

The original fuel gauge will work normally if there's about 20L left (until then it only show's it's full). But the good thing is that original fuel gauge shows precise time of getting empty! BUT the worst thing about original fuel gauge and pump position is it only uses about 35-36 litres from the tank.

SO, Touratech has some 41L tank mod to sell, it's about 35 euros or so. http://www.touratech-usa.com/docs/09-100-0014-1.pdf

BUT, it's quite PAIN IN THE ASS to install it, especially the pump support bending - i needed all my above average strenght to bend it and not to do any harm to surfaces using some tools. The TT gauge fitting is easy, just that damn fuel pump support is bulky thing to do...

Well, now the TT gauge shows from full to about 15L left normally, and it shows it's empty then :D It shows you're empty but realistically you have 10-15 litres inside, altough TT says you should have about 5 litres to ride... Dunno, maybe my tank is from the older design, one of the first TT 41 tanks if to decide from refilling cap which is different from the newer ones. So maybe it'll work OK with your version of tank.

But the good thing is with TT mod you can use about 39 litres of the tank. Knowing exacly how much gas my machine sucks on different driving conditions I can easily calculate the lenght i can get from the tank if it shows empty. I usually refill about every 600 kilometres or so (city and highway).
