The tool tray has a drain hole at the bottom, only if it's blocked water rises meets the live red on the relay and electrolysis begins. After two days the wire snapped :(

Should not look like this...

i wonder if giving the beastie the once over wi the pressure washer in the winter will dae the same thing? must check my bung hole! (nae pun intended) but there is some crap on the roads in the jockland winter!

Had the same thing on mine. Not flooded with water, but there's enough thrown up with winter riding to cause a problem.

After the bike failing to start the other morning i finally got around to sorting it out. Plenty of juice in the battery, and i could hear the the starter relay clicking. Nothing from the starter motor though.

After a quick check around this is what i found - One of the wires on the bottom of the starter relay had corroded and snapped off (it should be where the red circle is in the picture). A bit strange when you consider where it's located.

Anyway, bike now fixed, and something else to keep in mind:rolleyes:
