Stumpy has kindly agreed to lead a ride out up into his former backyard of Speyside.

I think we should aim off just now until maybe mid March at the earliest to avoid any chance of snow and to allow an extra hour or two of daylight.

I've only been up into this area a couple of times on the bike but the roads I've been on are great (as is the scenery).

I for one am really looking forward to this particular GS day oot. The full route and date have still to be decided but I would imagine an early start would be advisable so as to get the benefit of a good few hours in the area.

Lucky old me is also spending a week in a cottage in the gounds of the Glenlivet Distillery in March.

Sounds like a good one Ronno. I'm sure Johnny and I will be up for it! (As long as it's not at the end of March:augie:thumb )

Ronno , an here's me thinkin' you have lived.....

I sincerely hope, folks we go to Speybay, magic.
Have been many times but alas for reasons not for a time.

All you have to look out for is the 'dreaded flock' of sheep on the roads.:rob

Another visit is Pluscardine Abbey. Real on site honey and other stuff. Brilliant. If ,of course, you have an open mind!:rob

Maybe aim for the beginning of April due to increased daylight hours if folks are going to travel the kind of distances that you'll cover then Tash :thumb2

sounds fab, I'm hoping Grizzly's also gonna lead us a ride on the rodes that Aidan, Mandy and Tuned were on over Xmas....:clap

why no make it the summer months and have a ride oot frae Glen Clova:rob

Are you meaning as a Ride Out at the GotC? Me and Stumpy looked at that as a option for the Clans 2007. Too far and too many hours in the saddle. You have to remember , Alan that it's no' abody that spent an 'oor on the Friday getting there like you...:thumb

The likes o' Johnny and Tash would take 5 hours to get to Glen Clova to start the run

Count me in, should time permit going via Braemar, Crathie, Corgarff, Tomintoul and then onto Bidge of Avon, good weather a must though:thumb2

That sounds like a good plan.

I had a trip to Elgin to visit a 'Motorcycle Show' back in 2005 - I was on the 80RT. It was a great run and as you say, the scenery is marvellous.

The 'Motorcycle Show' wasn't up to much though the Grampian Classic MCC, KTM and a local dealer made a brave attempt (the other big names backed out at the last minute). Still a worthwhile day out though.

Should be good.

Bob.

I get back on 3rd April so Sat/Sun5/6 or Sat/Sun 12/13 would be fine for me (or does that clash with the Adventure Riders weekend in Wales??). EDIT Adventure Rider on 18/19th !!

Some cracking roads round this area too, I took my Mother for a drive our round there last week and it was fantastic even in a car.
