God damn it,....sensed it'll happen at some time.

Been doing some routine maint. Last week renewed the oil/filter, plugs. Had it running. This weekend changed brake pads, and then wanted to see if I could hardwire a GPS. Looked for a live feed, and this is were I think I've done something wrong. Didn't wire it in but think it had little electrical blip during the hunt.

Tried to start bike .....turning over but not firing up.
fuel in tank.
plug connections firm, and was firing ok after plug change since last week.( It's just been in garage all week)
fuses ok.
No smell of unburnt fuel when turning over.

I'm guessing I've accidentally blown a relay for the fuel pump. Hence no fuel getting to cylinder, but with the dark art of electrics who knows.

Before I get it to a dealership and plugged into diagnostics, any ideas????

when you first turn the ignition on, can you hear the fuel pump getting the fuel to the injector ok?

Tried charging/replacing the battery? had previous issues when my battery was on it's way out, it would turn over, but while cranking i don;t think the battery could maintain enough voltage to keep the electrical side of the engine functioning as well.

Battery on charge tonight .

Tomorrow I ll listen for fuel pump but don't remember ever noticing it before I ll have to put my old ear down near the tank to listen.

the noise of the fuel pump is noticeable just standing next to the bike. turn the kill switch on and off and listen for it. with the ignition on of course:D

why is it that when every you need to work on the bike the other half finds something more important.....like decorating!!!!

Anyway. Had the battery on charge, but only ever to 11.6volt on the on board indicator. No sound of fuel pump operating. Maybe the batt is on the way out, but I would have thought 11.6v would have been enough to kick it over if it was just a low batt.

I have had a couple of electrical problems caused by a frayed wire in the loom as it goes around a corner and by some scrotes trying to steal it. In both cases the same fuse was blown, I think it is the red ten amp near the rear of the seat rather than one of the group under the tank. That is where I would look first.

Fuse at the rear of the seat ???
Where did that one come from !?

I root about for the fuse and check for fraid wires on pinch points

Watch this space

Have had a hunt around for additional fuses, but could find any more fuses than the obvious block of four. Wires look sound. Still poking around for the loose wires, but have a mate with diagnostic tool coming over this weekend if I haven't solved it

had a similar issue, if it ain't the dirty idle actuator, it could be a battery without enough power, shows above 12 volts but not eneough amps

spoke briefly to Steve Grover from Motoscott. He indicated that it would probably need plugging into GS911. As whilst searching for the feed for the GPS the Canbus system detected my clumsy probing and shut itself down. Thanks to Kevin from KRF motorcycles as well.

However I'll check the amps tonight to eliminate another possible fault. Mark71 will be up this weekend, he's got a GS911 so I be able to ID the problem. Slowly but surely working through every option...bugger

can you check you have 12v going to the pump with a meter ? if so then looks like the pump is fecked

well plugged it into a GS911. It acknowledged to amount of volts but that was all!!!!.......It could even see the bike. Looks like the ECU is fried. This there an internal fuse? or separate fuse for the ECU? If not, does anybody have a spare ECU they don't need. ? Looks like I'll be going to the HUBB next weekend in the car....not quite the same.

Have you checked all your fuses?

The 5 fuses in the main box are all good. Was just wondering if there was any hidden ones built in to individual components

Spoke to motoworks. Ecu is the same as f660gs/CS twin spark bonus But they were not too sure if the g650x operated off the canbus system. Anybody able to confirm that ?

sorted.................the bike is back on the road. mark71 fixed it. I'll leave electrics to those that know. ECU fine, pump fine, bloody side stand was by passed. When I went hunting for a live feed for the gps I undid it, and didn't realise it.
